Energy Management

A CORGI Energy energy audit is proven to be an effective tool in helping people understand and take control of the way their properties use energy. They are also valuable in determining the steps to make their usage more efficient.

Our Energy Audits are carried out by one of our qualified energy consultants.

Solar Photovoltaic (PV) has been around for many years now and is a proven technology to reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint.

Air Source Heat Pumps

Air Source Heat Pumps offer an alternative choice to traditional heating systems for both domestic and commercial use.

Heat pump technology has been used around the world for decades. It delivers effective, low carbon heating and hot water.

Air Source Heat Pumps absorb heat from the outside air, in the same way that a fridge extracts heat from its inside. This heat can then be used to heat radiators, underfloor heating systems, warm air convectors and hot water.

Whilst you need electricity to power the pump, for every unit of electricity used by the pump you get between two and three units of heat – making this an efficient way to heat a building.

By pairing this technology with solar generated electricity it can drastically reduce the cost of electricity to power the heat pump. Air Source Heat Pumps qualify for the government RHI.

EV Car Chargers

It is reported that by 2020, 5-10% of cars are expected to be electric, and the last four years have seen a remarkable surge in demand for electric vehicles in the UK.

New registrations of plug-in cars increased from 3,500 in 2013 to more than 166,000 by August 2018 (source: Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, July 2018).

A business with 1000 employees now has an average of 8 employees with an electric car. By the end of 2020 the same business can expect between 40 and 100 employees to be driving an electric car.

Boilers

The Energy Saving Trust states that by switching to a new boiler from an older, inefficient one you could save up to £340 per year.

Your boiler accounts for around 55% of your energy spend throughout the year, so if you want to save money by keeping energy bills down, this is usually a good place to begin.

Boilers older than 10 years are usually very inefficient and can cost on average around 35% more to run than an A-rated, energy efficient condensing boiler. Breakdowns of boilers can often lead to expensive repair bills, sometimes totalling hundreds of pounds.

Battery Storage

Cost effective Battery Energy Storage storage has finally arrived, bringing with it the opportunity to store electricity from renewable sources such as solar panels.

If you have a solar system or plan to have a solar system installed, store excess solar energy for later use, the battery storage solutions allow you to store the generated electricity and utilise it when you most need it.

When solar panels produce more power than a home/business needs, the excess solar is sent back to the grid. A battery storage system enables you to capture and store excess solar energy produced during the day for use at night.

The result is greater self-consumption of solar generation and reduced energy costs. The battery storage system allows greater control of your power.

LED Lighting

Lighting in buildings accounts for between 20% and 40% per cent of a typical business’s electricity bill, so cutting your lighting bill is one of the easiest ways to save energy and money.

LED Lighting can provide significant savings as its energy usage is far lower than traditional lighting, and CORGI Energy can help you achieve these savings. An LED light bulb is around 10 times more efficient than an incandescent bulb.

As LEDs contain no mercury or lead and emit no UV rays, infrared or ultra violet radiation, they are an easy way to instantly reduce your carbon emissions.
